What is Waygu?
Wagyu is a highly sought after Japanese breed of cattle known for its high marbling and outstanding tenderness. Full Wagyu steaks can cost up to $200/lb and are pretty rare to find.
American Wagyu is typically what you’ll find raised here in the U.S.A. American Wagyu is classified as anything containing 50% Wagyu or more. American Wagyu steaks range up to $95 for a Ribeye.
At Bailey Beef Co. we raise Wagyu-Influenced Beef. We use Wangus bulls, 1/4 to 1/2 blood Wagyu bulls crossed with Angus, to introduce superior genetics to our herd. Our goal is to bring the flavor and tenderness to our premium beef without bringing the outrageous price tag.
